Am I Psychic? Signs Your Intuition Is Already Working

If you’re asking the question, I’ll tell you what I tell everyone: yes. You’re psychic. Everyone is. (Sorry if you were hoping to be the only one.)

Being psychic simply means getting information beyond your five physical senses. We’re all born with that ability. Some people use it more naturally than others, and some had it trained out of them somewhere around third grade. But it’s a skill, not a gift for a chosen few. And the signs are probably already showing up in your life.

Signs You’re Psychic

You see pictures in your mind

You think about a person and an image flashes up. You “see” how a room should be arranged before you move a single chair. That’s clairvoyance, clear seeing.

You feel what other people feel

You walk into a room and know the mood before anyone says a word. You leave lunch with a friend feeling exhausted while they’re practically skipping to their car. That’s clairsentience, clear feeling.

You just know things

An answer drops in out of nowhere. You can’t explain how you know. You just do, and you’re usually right. That’s claircognizance, clear knowing.

You think of someone right before they call

Or you keep arguing with someone in your head long after the conversation ended. (We’ve all been there.) That’s telepathy.

Your dreams come true

You dream about something and then it happens, in big ways or small. Or you get a strong feeling about how something will turn out. That’s precognition.

You had an imaginary friend

Especially one with a name and a very specific personality. That’s a specific way of being psychic, usually connected to clairaudience or mediumship.

You’ve been called “too sensitive”

Sensitivity is information. Most “too sensitive” people are strong intuitives who were never taught what to do with what they pick up.

Why It Doesn’t Always Feel Like a Superpower

If you’re intuitive and nobody taught you how to use it, it can feel more like a burden than a gift. You pick up everything around you. You can’t tell what’s yours. You second-guess what you know.

That was me. Growing up, I’d get intuitive hits, feel other people’s emotions like they were my own, and swing between deep knowing and total overwhelm. I just thought I was too sensitive. More than 22 years ago I went to an intuitive school, not to become psychic, but because I needed help. What I found was that my intuition was a skill I could actually learn to use.

Which Clair Is Yours?

Most people have one or two that come naturally. Ask yourself how you usually “get” things. Do you see, feel, know or hear? Your strongest one is usually the one you’ve been using your whole life without a name for it. Our Clairs page walks through all of them, if you’re curious.

Quick Answers

Is there a test to see if I’m psychic?

The best test is your own life. Keep track of your hunches for a week and see how often they’re right. Most people are surprised.

Can you become psychic?

You already are. What you can do is develop it, the same way you’d learn an instrument or a language.

What’s the difference between psychic and intuitive?

They describe the same abilities. We usually say intuitive, but it’s the same set of skills.

If you’d like to learn how to do this for yourself, Clairity School has classes and trainings that can help. Here’s where to start.
